ASHLEY
June 2, 2007 - July 14, 2021
Ashley, the beloved sheltie of the Vondran family.
ALEX
Alex (2005 to 2007-March 16, 2021)
Alex was our first foster failure. Aunt Linda gave us a call and said she had a sheltie she had collected from the Omaha Animal shelter that was going to be put down because he was unsalvageable and wanted to know if we would foster him. He came into our home and hearts March 10, 2009. He became ours officially April 24, 2009. The shelter thought he was 4 years old but we thought he might be closer to 2, so that is what we went with.
Alex was a challenge and a joy. He was very traumatized (a breeder release). It was a blessing to see the light come on in his eyes. He had two older brothers; Shadow and Skye (SSR alumni) that welcomed him and showed him the ropes of how to be a very loved and spoiled member of our family. Alex was a bit of a celebrity; his story was in a magazine called “Rally to Rescue”, he was one of the finalists in a Purina competition for rescues, he became a therapy dog and was in an article in the Manhattan (KS) Mercury paper. Alex passed on March 16, 2020. He was such a big presence in our home, he is missed and is very loved.
