ISN'T THIS A PRECIOUS LITTLE RED SHELTIE?  His story was almost tragic.

Our dear little Spencer's plight was brought to our attention the day before he would have been euthanized in a Missouri Animal Shelter having been picked up as a stray.  (WE  CAN'T  IMAGINE  THIS  FRAIL  LITTLE  OLE  BOY  OUT  IN  THIS  WEATHER AND  SURVIVING).  With the combined effort of another sheltie rescue group much closer than ours, we were able to get him pulled to safety and get him safely delivered here to us in Kansas.

It was so evident that this little waif of a boy, and such a delight at that,  just had to have belonged to someone and although very malnourished and in some serious need of medical attention, we were very glad we were contacted in time to save his life, OLD  OR  NOT.

Although we have had a wonderful family offer to give him the Sanctuary that he deserves, which we refer to as a FOREVER  HOME, it's taking longer than we had hoped as some of his medical needs have had to be put on hold until we can get some much needed weight put back on him.  He's in desperate need of a dental which may also be part of the culprit for having a problem with his eating habits.  His Lab work came back that his Thyroid level was quite low, so that has already been addressed  and we're hoping that, too may help him feel better.  After that....he still needs to be neutered. (Crossing paws, that not having had this done already years ago didn't cause the unforbidable testicular cancer that often appears in unaltered males).

While we wait and indeed enjoy Spencers delightful personality, if anyone would like to make a monetary donation towards Spencer's Care or even toward  a Care Package for his future Medical needs, ie., monthly preventatives...we would love to set aside your donation JUST  FOR  HIM.  As a matter a fact, we already have a box started  to send home with him, hopefully, that will be sooner than later as we know he would much rather have the individual attention and pampering  of his SENIOR  SHELTIE  LOVING MOM.
