Beautiful Katie Moon has found her way back to Sheltie Shack Rescue after being in her adoptive home since 2005.  After just completing a good senior health check (to include a lab panel), other than having some minor sight impairment, we've started her on thyroid meds along with a joint supplement. She's already shown more bounce in her step. Doc said her heart sounds good and she's in good weight for her size (37#).

NOW DOWN TO SERIOUS TALK..... who of you out there might be interested in spending some quality time with this gorgeous girl ?  She's an impeccable house guest, not asking for much other than a few kind words periodically with some gentle pats and kisses on her precious nose.  While it does seem we in rescue are always begging for homes for our senior dogs, please make no mistake, Katie Moon is NOT a sympathy case, that I can guarantee.  Just like my Cody Jo that adopted me at her age about 5 years ago and lived to be 16.5 years of age, she like he can be a blessing in YOUR life.  We also have a special program (thanks to a very special SSR donor) that allows us to completely update the medical needs of our seniors and then place them in what we call their retirement homes for very minimal expense.  We'd be glad to visit with you about this if you are serious about the potential of adopting one of our senior.  AGAIN, we are not desperate, if anything, we are even pickier with our senior adopters....these dogs deserve the utmost love and affection in their final years.
