CONGRATULATIONS DARBY, MOM LINDA AND DAD ALAN !

Look how nice Darby's  hair has been growing back in.  He won't be able to keep the ladies away when it's completely grown back in... hope he's not bashful !!!

Darby is a sweet, at first somewhat reserve, but very well mannered 8 year old sheltie that was surrendered by his family after being exiled to the backyard due to a horrible case of fleas. With a reliable preventative, diet and unconditional love, his hair will hopefully fill back in rapidly.

Darby is a 30# boy and will have a gorgeous mahogany sable coat when it fills back in. He is not overweight, just a larger boy with such a wonderful temperament and he is already offering kisses to his foster mom. He has not been around other dogs in the past and is taking it slow adjusting in his multiple dog foster home; however, he loves cats and our Willie Cat loves that. We keep finding out more and more about Darby's personality as the days go by, but he has already picked out his favorite stuffed toy and loves to collect a pile of more from a large basket full of them and pester you to play tug of war with him as he quietly grrrrr's under his breath.

If asked, he'd probably prefer living with a smaller number of canine companions, but that too may change when he finds out that playing with other dogs can also be fun. He also loves tummy rubs and freely offers to roll over on his back for them, even when being groomed. I'm sure he's worried that one day we'll expect him to help do laundry since we have spent a significant amount of time in the laundry room, lol....but he just wants to be where ever his person is.........ISN'T THAT WHAT WE JUST LOVE ABOUT SHELTIES ?????

Darby is reliably housetrained and has not chimed in with the other YAPPERS in his foster home yet. Let's hope he finds a home before he picks up that bad habit, lol.

PROCESS OF ADOPTION:

After we have had time to review your application and check references, we will be back in touch with you. This is a totally volunteer organization; therefore please allow at least 48 hours for us to get back with you. If at that time you have NOT gotten a reply, please e-mail us as your application may not have arrived. (ALL APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACKNOWLEDGED, WHETHER APPROVED OR NOT.)

After your submitted application has been processed, references checked and approved, a HOME VISIT will be scheduled after which time arrangements will then be discussed regarding meeting your potential new family member.

Adoption fees range from $150-$275, based on the age/adoptability of each specific dog. HOWEVER, please inquire about our SENIOR SANCTUARY PROGRAM if you are open to adopting a dog in double digit years. We believe these SPECIAL individuals and families deserve even more consideration/support and we make every effort to make these adoptions a WIN WIN for both our DOG and POTENTIAL FAMILY.
